DOTHAN….Kenneth Lavelle Jinks, a resident of Dothan, died Sunday afternoon, November 17, 2013, in a Dothan hospital. He was 82.
Mr. Jinks, son of the late Harvey Jinks and Willie Mae Jinks, was a native of Epps, Louisiana. He served his country in the United States Army Air Corps and later retired from the United States Army with the rank of Staff Sergeant. Mr. Jinks was a veteran of the Korean and Vietnam Wars. He lived in various locations in the United States and overseas, while serving in the armed forces. Following his retirement from the military, he was employed by Whatley-White Trucking Company in Dothan as a truck driver for several years. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Frances Jinks, and a brother, Clayton Jinks.
Surviving relatives include two daughters, Mary Katherine Elliott and husband, Mark, Vicksburg, MS and Debra Elisabeth McKlemurry-Porter (Lani), Scottsdale, AZ; a son, Kenneth Alton Jinks and wife, Janice, Headland; two sisters, Virginia Newman and Evelyn Brewer, both of Minden, LA; a sister-in-law, Sandra Jinks, Albuquerque, NM; twelve grandchildren, Glenn Bracken, Karen Bracken, Christopher Bracken (Aubrey), Greg Ross (Amy), Kenneth Jinks, Jr. (Brian), Kyle Jinks (Jessica), Kalen Jinks (Sarah), Somer Holland (Jordan), Taylor Jinks, Haleigh Jinks, Tanner Carmichael (Lauren), and Christopher Carmichael (Whitney); five great-grandchildren, Nathan Jinks, Mary Katherine Jinks, Kyleigh Jinks, Carter Ross, and Coleman Ross, several nieces and nephews.
